CHINA SOUTHERN AIRLINES’ DIRECT FLIGHT FROM BEIJING DAXING TO HELSINKI HAS SUCCESSFULLY MADE ITS MAIDEN FLIGHT
On 29 March, China Southern Airlines launched its inaugural Beijing Daxing–Helsinki flight at Beijing Daxing International Airport, marking its first route to Finland and the first direct Northern Europe service from the airport. As the only direct link between the two capitals, it creates a new air bridge between China and Northern Europe.
Deputy General Manager Zeng Yongchao noted that the route supports national strategies and the Belt and Road Initiative, enhances Daxing’s role as an international hub, and promotes cooperation between China, Finland, and the wider Nordic region in trade, economy, culture, and tourism.

The route will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, initially running three times weekly (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays), increasing to daily flights from 20 June. Flight CZ8171 departs Beijing Daxing at 14:55 and arrives in Helsinki at 18:35 local time, while the return flight CZ8172 leaves at 20:35 and arrives in Beijing at 09:40 the next day.
Passengers from over 50 cities in China can connect seamlessly via Beijing Daxing to Helsinki and other European destinations. The route will also shorten freight transit times, supporting faster delivery of goods and direct transport of fresh salmon to Beijing.
