PP Woven Bags: Product Introduction & Applications
2026-03-20
About Polypropylene (PP)
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic resin derived from the polymerization of propylene, available in three configurations: isotactic, atactic, and syndiotactic. Industrial-grade polypropylene products are primarily composed of the isotactic form. Polypropylene also includes copolymers of propylene with small amounts of ethylene.
It is generally a translucent, colorless solid, odorless and non-toxic.
Thanks to its regular structure and high crystallinity, polypropylene has a high melting point of 167°C (332.6°F), offering excellent heat resistance — a key advantage that allows its products to be sterilized with steam. With a density of 0.90g/cm³, it is the lightest general-purpose plastic. It is corrosion-resistant, with a tensile strength of 30MPa, and delivers better strength, rigidity, and transparency than polyethylene.
Its limitations include poor low-temperature impact resistance and a tendency to age, but these issues can be effectively addressed through material modification and the addition of antioxidants.

Main Applications of Woven Bags
Pp Woven Bags are widely used for packaging and containing various goods, serving an extensive range of industrial and daily applications.
1. Industrial & Agricultural Packaging Bags
Driven by material availability and cost efficiency, approximately 6 billion Woven Bags are used annually in China for cement packaging, accounting for more than 85% of bulk cement packaging.
With the development and application of flexible bulk containers, plastic Woven Bulk Bags are extensively used for marine and land transportation of industrial and agricultural products. In agricultural packaging, plastic woven bags are widely applied in aquatic product packaging, poultry feed packaging, farm covering materials, as well as sunshade, windproof, and hail-proof shelters for crop cultivation.
Typical products include:
- Feed Woven Bags
- Chemical packaging bags
- Putty powder bags
- Urea bags
- Vegetable mesh bags
- Fruit mesh bags

2. Food Packaging Bags
Rice, flour, and other staple foods are increasingly packaged in woven bags. Common food-grade woven bags include:
- Rice woven bags
- Flour woven bags
- Corn woven bags

3. Tourism & Logistics Transportation
Plastic woven fabrics are used in tourism products such as temporary tents, sunshades, travel bags, and luggage sacks. Various tarpaulins made from woven materials are widely used as covering materials for transportation and storage, replacing mold-prone and heavy cotton tarpaulins. They are also commonly used for construction fences, net covers, and other engineering applications.
Typical products include:
- Logistics bags
- Shipping packaging bags
- Freight bags
- Cargo packaging bags

Extended Applications of Polypropylene (PP)

Beyond packaging and daily industrial use, polypropylene is also widely applied in construction, medical care, transportation, and many other key industries.
